About OVS - Adult & Teen Singing Lessons

About the Studio

Owens Vocal Studio is a hybrid studio — online from anywhere with local session members having the optional benefit of once a month in-person lessons — based in western Cincinnati. OVS serves adults and teens who want to learn about their voices and grow in vocal skill. Lessons are co-created by you and Tiffany, and are completely based on your desires and goals. I have been right where you are - I’ve been told that my voice wasn’t big enough, that I didn’t have the right training; I’ve dealt with tension and range issues and felt mediocre about my voice because of these things and that is why I have chosen to commit myself to the work of helping singers. I love to help you learn about your voice and how to sing with freedom and efficiency, enabling you to experience joy in singing and to feel confident that you are fulfilling your vocal potential in a way that you desire so that you’re not always comparing yourself to whoever everyone else thinks you should be. Whether you are a new or experienced singer, an adult or a teen, my calm and encouraging teaching style will help you to feel at ease in developing and honing your singing skills.

I will not:

  • Tell you what I think your voice should sound like
  • Lead a lesson, telling you what to do the entire time

We will learn:

  • Based on what interests and concerns you
  • Through exploration and experimentation to see what is right for your particular body-instrument

I will:

  • Ask a lot of questions
  • Want to know what you notice
  • Want to know how things sit with your system

  • MM, Vocal Performance, Miami University, 2003
  • BA, Music Education K-12, Mount St. Joseph University, 1999
  • Alexander Technique teacher trainee through Total Vocal Freedom
  • The TVF Integrative Music Education Certification — all levels completed
  • 15 years of teaching voice and vocal pedagogy at a local university
  • Music and vocal directing for shows at a local university
  • Roles and guest artist performances in Oxford, Lexington, Boston and Cincinnati
  • OVS established in 1998
